Turns out, that the only things taken were my computer, and meltie's minidisc player.

I took milfos to my house, and we checked things out and what have you. Two boxes had been tipped out and my stuff was everywhere.

I'm a bit miffed that it was only my computer, but that's replaceable. My hdd was in milf's computer.

So yeah, it's replaceable, and I'm not too distressed. I also still really like the house, and want to live there!

Well at least is was only replacable things, thats a kind of bonus I guess. And you have your fella to look after you too. ;)

Like I said, if you need any 'bits etc I can check what I have and send a list of spares to ya if you like.. ;)

That's the sort of near-miss lesson about backups no-one wants to have to learn! Time to scout around the geek friends for a spare backup tape drive. And somewhere that isn't the house to keep them offsite in case of a meteor strike. Gotta keep the mp3s and pr0n safe ;-)

all my archived CDs had been thrown around, but not stolen too.

Argh! I have never been personally burgled (though my parents were when I was a kid) but I think if I was, the throwing around of Stuff would annoy me more than the outright removal of other Stuff in many ways. It looks like you're well on your way to sorting it though. You're not even shaking in a heap on the ground muttering about violation of personal space like I probably would be.

Having lost the contents of my hdd (due to computer dying and muppetry by me), I'm glad you had that with you, although know how scary being broken into is. So what are you going to do about the house? Advertise for new housemates?

Hello long time no speak, but when i get the time i have an old celeron 366 you can have, 20 gig, network, modem, onboard vga usual rubbish, got it from the dump, might as well give it a home than flog it for jack shite to some moron, who will ask where the enter button is !!!

Sorry to hear about the burglary. At least it was only replaceable stuff that was taken.

The worse thing is knowing somebody has gone through your stuff and it's an awful feeling but at least you're ok and nobody was hurt physically.

Make sure you get some decent security now. There's a bloke in Beeston (now there's an advert) who makes good security gates, Yorkshire Security I think it's called. He fitted my door gate for me.
