Fucked off at the world

Yesterday was my tattoo session. I worked the night before and I didn't sleep well because I was scared of the pain. Apparently not sleeping well makes it worse. Hm. I only managed to sit there for an hour and a half because it hurt, and I left not having had a proper look at what was done.

I then went to a hairdresser, where the girl gave me a great haircut, until it came to my 'fringe'. I don't have a fucking fringe, there's an amount of hair that was a feathered front but due to straightening it won't grow. She fucking cut it and this morning I can't style it for shit. I know it's only hair and hair grows but I didn't have a fucking fringe and now I do and it's horrid. I don't even have any cute clips to push it to the side with. Looks like I'm going to Claire's Accessories tomorrow.

I got home and looked properly at my tattoo and it's GREEN and fucking ORANGE. My two most loathed colours in the world. Not only that, but they clash horribly with each other. I called the studio but my tattooist was busy with someone else, so the piercer relayed the questions across. Apparently it'll change due to body fluid and there's more layers to be done yet, but still I'm fucking horrified.

It's a nice enough picture I guess but it's not ME. He asked me what colours I wanted and I said pink with yellow accents. NOT FUCKING GREEN OR ORANGE. If he'd have mentioned either of those colours I'd have said no, I have this fucking thing on my back for all eternity for fuck's sake.

I will go back asap for the next session.

Today it's just my hair. :(

:( It is definately green and orange. How could he use those colours when you'd asked for pink and yellow?!

I don't really know a lot of tattoos, hopefully he'll be able to tint it to more satisfactory colours.

FWIW though, the actual design is lovely!

I don't know about the green - there's too much blue in it really to fade properly to yellow. But the orange parts I think should fade as it heals to pink; it's very fresh and raw right now, and I think what's actually giving it that "orange" look is actually plasma seeping through as the skin heals - beneath all the shine from the plasma, the ink does look to be a reasonably dark pink that will naturally lighten to the shade you wanted as it heals up completely.

If the green stays green, I think it's a "blue" enough shade that it can probably be redone with a proper, darker blue to contrast against the pink.

Not sure what to suggest for the hair other than fancy clips to pin it out the way - but give the tattoo time and I think you'll find it's not so bad as you fear.

Yeah when I go back if it's not gone light blue I'm gonna get it done royal blue instead. I am just hoping that the oranginess is just due to my skin and that the ink will change colour.

Give it another week and see how it goes; I think you'll find it's not so orange then. Ink does funny things when it's first applied, particularly when the skin starts to get to work to try and heal it!

The whole thing is just too neon, it needs to fade to give it that authentic Japanese artwork aesthetic

That does sound really annoyng about the tattoo, does look pretty in design though, hopefully will fade to the rightish colours or may be sortable? Don't really know enough about inks etc really myself :/

I think it's still sortable. It's so gorgeous just not me at all

It's hard to tell just how a colour will settle down till the skin has healed/flaked away eg. grey shading looks virtually black when it's first put in the skin. Redness of the damaged skin will also tinge colours, so you'll just have to sit tight for now an keep rubbing the Preperation H ointment (never use the PrepH gel it leaches out the inks) into it.

There’s a national initiative on at the moment, were companies are supplying hearing aids to people who need them for free… maybe you can get on for your tattooist???

From my experience of tattoos, it should end up pink and yellow when the swelling/redness fades. The yellow in my sun looked orange and the orange looked red for about a week and a half until the soreness subsided. Don't panic just yet. :-)

A friends tattoo went orange after getting pink put in :) it'll be fine! And the piece is looking absolutely amazing.
