mofetteWell, the tyrade continued. Every time she does this, it makes it easier to walk away.
So, I'm writing a paper for my Architecture class, and it's on [Pachinko] parlours. I need to go to the parlour up the road, and take a look inside, as well as the fact that I'd like to interview the people working in there.
Okaasan waits till the sister I asked first is out the room, and then turns to me...
Her: "Lee-chan, my daughters are christian"
Me : "Yeah...?"
Her: "Pachinko is da-me [not allowed]"
Me : "Um... no."
So, it turns out, that this special kind of christians are not allowed into a pachinko parlour to help me research. I protest that I can't speak Japanese and that I need an interpreter, and that the only friend who lives close enough is at the same level as me. Still it's da-me.
Mother fucker won't let her 20 year old and 25 year old daughters speak for themselves. All I ask is to be treated right. I've spoken to a couple of christians today, neither of them agreed with her, and say that she's far to strict [and one of these christians is very devout. she rocks] and that going into pachinko [which is not actually gambling, until you leave the building] is perfectly legal.
I think I can't wait for the next 15 days to pass!
