mofette: (Pink and Purple)

Friday, 5th March, 2004

[livejournal.com profile] meltie's mum came to visit and brought us a ton of food. Biscuits and pancake mix and things, but it was all short-lived as we had to pack because we were going to LONDON!

We went down to the station, and got on a lovely White Rose service to London Kings Cross. On the way down, due to some fuckwitted girls not being able to comprehend 1. a queue, and 2. paying by visa on a train, the lady serving me gave me £19.80 change from a tenner on an £8 order. WIN!

We got into Kings Cross late, meaning we'd missed the train we had planned to get had gone. Oh well. A minor bit of waiting later, and we were on the train to Hatfield, and the man selling tickets was not impressed that we hadn't already bought them. Once we arrived in the back end of nowhere bumblefuck HATFIELD! Up pop [livejournal.com profile] tacd, [livejournal.com profile] burntoutjoy and [livejournal.com profile] atx! Wheee. We went to ASDA where I picked up Babycham to avoid any possible stray giraffes that have come about, and also some dinner. We went back to [livejournal.com profile] geekhausaldykes where Debbie [[livejournal.com profile] atx's gorgeous girlfriend] was waiting for us all. [livejournal.com profile] basicblack wasn't present; she had gone for a visit back home. [livejournal.com profile] fuggi was at work. We settled down and watched an episode of Friends, and then I went to sleep in [livejournal.com profile] fuggi's bed. That was until [livejournal.com profile] meltie came and woke me up. Then we snuggled up on a beanbag on the lounge floor. Peacefully sleeping, only to be awoken momentarily by [livejournal.com profile] tacd and [livejournal.com profile] gothicfreakgrrl making food, and [livejournal.com profile] fuggi returning home and shining us in the face with a torch so he didn't step on us.

The next morning we got up at 5:00 am so that we could get on a train. I did leave a message for the guys at Aldykes, but it didn't get received properly by lj and it got lost!!
We talked to a nice man who was in Jonathan Creek [he played the guy who got married to Adrian Edmonson] but wouldn't shut up! Eventally with all the trains being changed for buses, we got to Kings Cross, and got on the Tube. Then we eventually got to Heathrow Terminal 2, and picked up the lovely [livejournal.com profile] web_kitten. She had been waiting and everything! [Bloody late trains] So then we got breakfast in the Aeroplane thingummy and Jhenn gave us presents and things! Once that was done, we went to find the hotel.

It was an OK place, a [bit basic], but for the prices that we were paying, what else could you expect? Once we'd put Jhenn's things in the locker and made our beds we went out to find [livejournal.com profile] ncender. His hotel was at the next Tube stop down, so we hopped on and hopped off. Nick was a wee bit late arriving, so we ventured out to the park opposite and danced around the [fountains]. When we decided to check Nick's hotel again, I could see him from the other side of the road, and we ran over to greet him. We rushed him up to his hotel room, and took [DIY Purikura] in the roof of the lift.

Then we rushed straight off to Tottenham Court Road, where we ate a Subway, and then went into [The British Museum] where we saw lots of things, I got to see the [Aztec Turquoise] [skulls] and [dragon], and we all got to see the Rosetta Stone.

Then we ran off to Camden, where we saw [livejournal.com profile] dooferlad who fed us coffee and played on the Xbox with us. I'd not played on one before, and it was a lot of fun, I must say, and thankyou so much, James for letting us perk back up at yours. Once we'd all been sufficiently caffeinated we went to The Dev, where it was scary and crap and the doormen didn't want to let us in because we didn't know that a pissing pub would have a dress code [!] and so we went to wagamama [alright, not worth the hype] before setting up camp in Wetherspoons, which was nice and we found [livejournal.com profile] grahamb. Lots more people turned up, but not before long [livejournal.com profile] stevenothing and [livejournal.com profile] sparklielizard were there[[livejournal.com profile] teqkiller and [livejournal.com profile] muftak being too lightweight to join us], and I turned into a huggy twat. Much beer was drunken, and we all went home v.v.v. tired, but definately happy.

We got up relativly early, so that we could get a full day in. First stop was [The London Dungen] where me and meltie got picked on for having strange hair, and Nick had his tongue ripped out with some implement of torture. We then ran back to the tube so that we could meet back up with James and go to [Oriental City]. There we met up with [livejournal.com profile] fross and [livejournal.com profile] snarfc0re. We had a nice time looking at random shit, watching Nick beat some pikeys at DDR, and eating in the food court. Then we all went back to Camden, where we showed Nick and Jhenn [Cyberdog] [with some weird dancing man on the desk] and talked to [livejournal.com profile] silver_aj and went do more shopping. [Fross and Snarfy going home in the meantime] Then we ate Felafel at that weird pizza place beside the green market, and me and Jhenn got chatted up by the men that worked there. Then we got some snacks from a shop, and chilled in the hostel eating snacks and reading [Weekly World News] before saying goodbye to Nick and going to bed.

We got up early to vacate the room, and headed down to [The London Eye]. We had a nice 'flight' and tried to organise meeting [livejournal.com profile] teqkiller but it was not doable. We rushed to Kings Cross to get on our train, and settled into the White Rose service once again to return to Pikeyville.

I shall continue tomorrow with the tales of our adventures in Leeds
