I've been so busy recently, I feel like I've only just had time to sit down. I've left a member of staff on the bar as it's quiet to steal a moment for myself.
Last Sunday I travelled down to London, where I eventually found me a
needler and
dan_lane. We wandered out to a Pizza Express that was lurking where we were expecting a Wagamamas, and we had lovely pizza. Turns out that all three of us like hairy fish [Anchovies] which I always assumed people hate. It's my secret weapon when I don't want people to steal my pizza.
We went back to their place on the boat. BOAT! I loved it on that thing, it's so novel. Leeds' river isn't even visible other than the small piece that goes under a bridge, let alone getting a boat on it. We saw the O2 dome and London Bridge and the eye. Also the men selling the tickets on there were awfully friendly. I'm no longer scared of London.
When we got there I finally got to see their gorgeous flat. Oh lordy it's amazing. So jealous. I was all excited about my new place but now I'm not so much because now I have something new to aim for ;)
We sat up for hours discussing TV and Films. I think partly because we were so happy to see each other after such a long time, but also partly because we didn't want it to be Monday. We also played some Mario Kart online, and I sucked.
Monday we got up thanks to the workmen outside digging up a load of concrete and went out. The fucking barriers at the train station wouldn't let us through with our tickets we'd just bought from the machine RIGHT NEXT TO THEM and we missed the train we needed. We ended up showing a taxi driver how to get to Beckenham Cemetary instead. How do taxi drivers not know where stuff is? :(
We got to Lisa's funeral where we saw many many people. Although it was a sad and sombre occasion, the way that the humanist service was performed and actually hearing things about Lisa that I didn't know was so nice. I admit, I cried a little even though my emotions have been pretty much turned off since I got these new pills :( I can't believe how strong
stevek was.
We all piled on to a train into the city where we went to The Market Porter where it all went a bit Pete Tong. I ended up getting so drunk I thought it was a good idea to stay behind rather than ride with
sarcaustic and Ed and go home that evening. I really enjoyed meeting
tga,
cookwitch,
d_floorlandmine and
fraghag amongst others, and great to finally meat Heath and see a lot of people, some of which I'd not seen in like 6 years. We ended up getting a kebab at a cafe and getting home very late. Whoops!
I got up the next day with not even a slight hangover [god I love cider] and played on my PSP 'till it died, and then my DS before finally getting the guts to truly experience television on the giant tv. I want a big tv :pout:
Eventually we went out after
needler had her birthday relax in a bath and we went to Leon where we had some food. I wasn't impressed but I think I just made a bad choice. When we got the Kings Cross we discovered that the £78 ticket to Leeds was only valid after 7, so I bought one and hung around for a while.
My auntie just happened to be coming through Kings Cross [She lives in Surrey!] so I saw her for 10 minutes, and get a hug and then I went and spent a fortune at Yo Sushi by eating idle-mindedly while I read my book. I got on the next train home and arrived around 9.30, getting an evening to myself watching movies and packing. My room looks decidedly queer right now :/
I was very happy to see people in London but it shouldn't be for something like that. I will be making sure we come back for another visit before the end of the year and I am bringing
milfos with me.
