I've been watching films again.
Lately I have watched:
Wall-E - Loved the first half, it was so cute and different but then humans got involved and it all got a bit predictable.
The Dark Knight - Loved it. It wasn't *AMAZING* but It was much much better than Batman Begins. What the fuck is up with Bale's voice though?
Children of Men - fucking amazing film. It reminded me a bit of 28 days later [no surprise there then] but darker, as the people dying weren't zombies.
What's Eating Gilbert Grape - I've always hated Leonardo DiCaprio until I saw The Departed. This one was ok too but I think Johnny Depp looked like a fool in it.
Creepshow 2 - I've seen this so many times on the screens at Fab, so I had to borrow it and watch it. Turns out what I thought was my favourite section "The Raft" wasn't half as good as the first one about Chief Woodenhead.
Top Gun - Fucking tosh. I fucking hate Tom Cruise and his part in this only made it worse. Also couldn't stop looking at his pre-'fixed' teeth.
40 Year Old Virgin - A lot better than I thought it would be, typical feel-good fare.
Wedding Crashers - Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn need to GTFO and DIAF. Srsly.
Notorious - Liked this one but didn't understand the end until I rewound and re-watched it. Not my fave Hitchcock by any means.
Fargo - Didn't realise Buscemi was in this or I'd have watched it a lot sooner. Not enough violence for me, but I loved the faux-stupidness of the policewoman.
Nuovo cinema Paradiso - Great film but I wish I hadn't watched the director's cut as reading about the other versions after it sounded a lot more watchable. It was too darn long.
The Great Dictator - I hate Chaplin films and this was no exception.
Annie Hall - Woody Allen is really a one-trick pony isn't he? This was ok but I thought all the girls looked alike so it made it hard for me to follow it.
Crash - Literally just finished. Great great great film which I will buy on DVD soon. Didn't recognise the cop as the one with the sick father though, I guess I'm used to seeing cops in cop uniforms so it threw me when he was in civvies.
So now I'm at the last 100 to watch! Not doing too badly, although there's a lot of foreign ones coming up and they require a lot more concentration than ones in English. People may say I have too much free time, I say I have too few hobbies.
