Home, James!
Feb. 4th, 2009 04:38 pmThis weekend I went home to Lichfield to see my parents and my best friend from High School.
Friday I finished work and got on the 9.10 train. I'd just done 5 days in a row, the week before I'd done 7 shifts, the week before that 6 so I was well in need of a couple of days of home-cooked food and giant television.
I finished reading Soul Music on the train, so I had nothing left to entertain myself with, but luckily I was pulling into Derby, so I called my brother to tell him to set off now so we'd both arrive at Burton-Upon-Trent at the same time. It would've been perfect had he not gone back to bed(!) and not set off until half an hour later. When I went to work earlier in the afternoon it wasn't that cold, so I had no gloves, no scarf and I needed a wee :(
When I got home mum warmed me up some of the Chili Con Carne she'd made earlier and we watched some shite television before going to bed.
Saturday I convinced my mum to come out shopping with me, and I ended up with a really nice bright green satin top for St. Patrick's, and some Pink Leopard Socks. I feel an update of the Pink Leopard Gallery is in need as I have maybe got another 50% more objects to add to it :}
Then I cooked dinner for the whole family and went out to Vicky's house, where we drank and I drank and I drank everything I could find and found out I wasn't invincible. I threw up and it was horrible.
Sunday morning I was still drunk, and Vicky showed me a Soulja Boy video that scared me, then dropped me off home in time for me to watch Newcastle Vs Sunderland, where they got a pentalty they shoudln't have, and we drew. Boo.
Then
bigmoma bleached my roots and we watched some crap, before
king_theodoric came home, and me and my daddy watched The Superbowl together.
It's a little known fact, but when I was a baby I could name all of the NFL Teams by either their City, Helmet or Nickname. I'm glad that
medusa is doing something useful with her kids' memory and is teaching Felix french. I'm not sure that "Washington Redskins, Green Bay Packers" will be that useful, especially when the teams move City.
I called
web_kitten when I saw that one of the players was from Kent, OH. It was nice to hear her voice. She was watching The Puppybowl.
Dad and I thoroughly enjoyed the Superbowl, the most entertaining American Football match I've ever watched [and the team I was supporting won]. Then it was Monday and it was time to come home - the less said about that the better. 40 minute late train + broken front window near Chesterfield = 2 hour late train. I got home at gone 11 instead of 9.
Today I signed up for Twitter. Unsurprisingly I'm Mofette but I don't know if I'll use it much. Chris Moyles made me want to. It would've been nice when I was stuck on the train with no book to read and no videos on my ipod.
This week I have Saturday and Sunday off and I am spending them with Milf. End of.
