How is everyone? I've been reading but not commenting, as I said to myself that I wouldn't update until I'd told you all about the Metallica concert. I utterly failed at that!

Back in February I went to see Metallica - it was the most amazing day/night that I've ever EVER had.

We got the tickets back in September, so it was a long wait until we got to go, but boy did it come around fast.

I worked the night before, but I was up early and bright for Flick to pick us up around 1.

We arrived at Sheffield at around 2 I think, where after a pint over the road we got ourselves into the queue for the gates. They didn't open until 7 so it was a long, tiring wait! But once the crowd got huge we realised why it had been such a good idea to be there early.

We were front row baby! Flick and Bev were determined, so Milf and I stood directly behind them. There was an asshole who decided he should be standing where Flick was, and told us as much so we bolstered ourselves against his pushing and delivered a few swift elbows to the ribs. I have never seen someone so rude and insistant at a gig. He was pushing me with all his weight and I had to swap places with Milf. He also spent the whole night resting fully on the bloke in front of him. I think there wasn't a person within a 10 meter radius that didn't want to twat him.

The Sword were shite, poor little boys on a man's stage. Machine Head were ok, but I think those rumours of Metallica making their support bands sound like shit may be true.

When the theme tune from "The Good, The Bad & The Ugly" started, a couple of tears rolled down my face, but when they played 'One' I absolutely sobbed my heart out. Hetfield even gave me a funny look. Proper tears of "I never thought I would hear this song live"-ness.

So then we went for a drink in a nearby bar with Bev and her husband, Liam. Then got in the car back to Leeds. All in all a day to remember and I'm able to die happy now I've seen Metallica.

Another thing I've done recently is go to Weston-Super-Mare to see [livejournal.com profile] medusa and [livejournal.com profile] dr_atheist. It was LOADS of fun, really nice to meet my Godson, who sat peacefully on my lap for like an hour on first meeting me, and to properly meet Felix, who was ill the poor sod, and we played a game that I've wanted for ages that I thought would be appropriate for Felix, Cooking Mama. Alas it was too hard for an almost 4 year old [yeah no surprises there] and so we tried playing a skating game and Mario Kart instead.

I had a nice relaxing couple of days, thank you so much guys :D

Another thing I did was go to see Lily Allen. I'm glad I managed it, but I wish I hadn't got so drunk I don't remember any of it beforehand. I remember her playing Womanizer by Britney and I remember her stage but I don't remember much else. I was also stood right at the back as we got there late. Oops.

This sunday I'm working and we're showing Flight of the Navigator at work. Then on Monday it's Wrestlemania at FAB and I'm getting quite excited about that!

I've been feeling quite lonely recently, as the people I used to hang out with aren't answering texts, or are cancelling at last minute. A couple of weeks ago I reached out to a few others with calls but no-one answered. I don't know who my friends are any more. I only know that I'm always the one who leaves a comment or the one who sends the first facebook message.
