Matrix Theory

Last night, on [ICQ] I met this guy, and he was sooo ace, willing to listen to my whole Matrix theory, and not call me mental! He's given me permission to post what we said, I'll try to differentiate between who'se who... this may take some time.... ;)

Me:- I'm obsessed with finding the truth.
Him:- who's that philosopher who said that we were all an experiment within another species? I don't know but i have read a lot about that sort of thing, before the matrix.. Why do you think that you don't know the truth?
Me:- cos there's got to be something more. I personally don't believe in god. *god this is a deep conversation for this time of night, and for meeting someone! lol* I respect people's beliefs, but it doesn't do anything for me.
Him:- I used to think about conspiracy, but then i realised that you will never know everything, for example you don't know what I did 5 mins ago...does that bother you?
Me:- That is a good point, but if I needed to know what you did 5 minutes ago, then I wouuld eventually find out. There's a need to know what's going on about me. You need to know what's going on about you. That's what the whole freedom thing is, not showing people what you are doing, showing people what is happening to THEM. Make sense?
Him:- why don't you stop participating in western society and live in nepal or somewhere:). then you wouldnt have to worry? after all civilisation is only a role playing game on a grand scale, you r just a pawn. I am not disagreeing with u though I do full agree with what I THINK you are saying.
Him:- oh right, what about this theory... how would you know if you was just a brain connected to a computer that generated everything you feel, see, etc? you wouldn't right?
Me:- I think you would, the body knows if there's a foreign thing in you, transplants, disease. It tries to repel it.
Him:- but, if you that is all you have been since your first existance then you wouldn't know, because, you brain is the main part of being aware, and if that was all simulated then you couldn't possibly know...
Him:- you don't believe in the 6th sense or anything?? I can't get it over in words, I think you'd know.
Him:- no, I don't belive in any number of senses, just a bit curious to the answer of my theory..
Me:- I don't know, I can't answer it. Whatever answer I give, it'll not satisfy you
Him:- true, unless I had hard evidence. When you said that your messed up due to paranoia etc... I think there is a conection with believing in conspiracy
Me:- really? you think I fucked myself up? Cos if I did I think I'm going to cry
Him:- well, feeling insecure about yourself would lead to wanting to blame this on something else... you dont believe me? or agree?
Me:- I don't know, I think I do, but I don't want to.

Buggery. I think he's got something.
