mofette: (Zombie)
First, off, here's some Frogs.

Ok, hundreds.

http://www.mofette.co.uk/photos/v/frogs/

All the ones that are not marked "not for sale" are for sale. [well, duh]. I would prefer these to go in a job lot, and I am offering these [that's over 140 last count] for £60 [plus fees for paypal]. This is not including postage [which I'd rather not do, I'd prefer a pick up from either Leeds or near Burton On Trent] but this comes out at the low, low price of £0.46 PER FROG!!

All that's happened, is I collected a few and it snowballed. All that anyone got me for Christmas, Birthdays was frogs. I picked them up whenever I saw them and it HAS TO STOP. I've kept all the ones that have sentimental value [still around 40 bloody frogs] and gotten rid of a few that were so broken they were beyond repair, or were a bit... crap.

Some of them have seen better days [the Sylvanian family has got worn mouths on a couple, but the baby of the family was RARE] but where possible the damage is photographed, and it's not like I'm offering these at an extortionate price.

Please, pass this link to anyone you know. I really want rid of these before I move house, and I've spent a long time assembling these from the parents house. If I find any more, I will give them to whoever buys these, FOR FREE. I don't want to make any profit from this [I'm making a huge loss, I remember paying £12 for ONE of these!] I just want them to go to a good home without making a charity shop cry.

Thanks for looking!!

Just had a fight with a TV licensing man at the door.

Hello, I'm from... I'm from... these *shows me a card thing*
Oh, we were just talking about you guys last night, we are writing you a letter as we don't use the televisions for anything other than watching DVDs and playing computer games.
OK well I need to come in to check on that.
Do you have a warrant?
No
Then I can't let you in, sorry.
We will get one.
Ok
Can I take your name?
No, I won't give out my name
So shall I put you down as non-compliant?
Yes, goodbye.

The thing is, we're not doing anything wrong. We ARE only using them to play computer games, and I would have shown him in, only there is a freeview box on top of the TV in the kitchen, which has never worked because the house aerial is too old. I didn't want him to see that and get grounds to sue us in court.

They won't get a warrant, because he hasn't got reasonable doubt to think that we may be watching a broadcast signal. I could do what this man is doing and let them harass me with letters, but I think that now would be a good time to write that letter that we were talking about...

Since I last updated, I've watched these films from the film list:

Psycho
Strangely, I'd never had this spoiled for me. This film was OK, I liked the fact that the person you thought was the main character died halfway through. I think I'll check out the remake at some point though, purely because it'll be prettier...

Sunset Boulevard
This one was strange. I also have a huge dislike for this type of male character. Even though he's a different person, he invoked the same type of hate that I have for James Stewart's parts. Stupid entitled men.

American Beauty
I really really really enjoyed this. I love mid '90s films, the colours and the style and the music are all great. Again, I can't believe I'd never seen this but when I did I loved it. I wish there were more things like this I'd not seen :(

Taxi Driver
I tried to watch this once before and found it a bit strange at the beginning and I turned it off. The end was very confusing and I couldn't believe that he'd got away with it. Over rated I think.

The Shining
I'd seen the ending on TV before, so I knew what was going to happen but I found the middle bits with the lady in the bath and 'redrum' quite scary for an old film.

Pan's Labyrinth
I really enjoyed this, although I didn't like the ending. I also had to watch it on a tv on the back of a headrest on the plane, so I think it would benefit from a bigger screen next time. Will buy on DVD.

Cool Hand Luke
LOVED this. I absolutely adored it and will get this if I see it on DVD anywhere. Wish I'd seen it sooner.

The Big Lebowski
Mediocre film, great soundtrack. It was a bit too far-fetched for me but I will watch it again. Proper stoners film though!

King Kong [1933]
Proper old classic with amazing graphics for the time. Swooning blondes, love it.

Next I tackle A Clockwork Orange, Paths of Glory, Chinatown, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Third Man, Downfall, The Pianist, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre and M.
