So, with [livejournal.com profile] cat_in_a_box and I both being roleplay widows and not seeing our other halves much, we have gotten behind with all the film-watching we used to do before we got jobs.

We have decided to make a pro-active stand and actually bother to watch the films I've got, two each Monday from 7pm onwards.

We are also fed-up of going "No, I'm not in the mood for that" and films like Monster, which I've wanted to see for a long time, have been neglected, so we have made a timetable, and drawn movies out of a hat.

If you would like to come, please do. If there's a week where you don't want to see anything, or you've seen them, please don't come because although I have a huge house, space is limited.

I need to know if people are coming, so that I can organise asking people to bring drink or food. I don't want everyone turning up with the same things!! :)

Also, if anyone would like to have any of these films, then please let me know and we'll work something out.

notes: I will be updating this post with IMDB links. I may set up a noticeboard so that we can discuss things; whether we are coming or not, what happened in the film, who we want to see more of, etc. AND what type of film, so people know whether to come to see scary things or not!

So, who'se coming over on Monday!?!?!

It's about two and a half hours long, which when coupled with the three odd hours of Green Mile makes for one of ~those~ evenings (I once watched Dune and Clockwork Orange back to back... it hurt rather a lot).
lots of love

Ooh, and Tank Girl!

I'm still pissed off that they cut most of Sub Girl's scenes though.

Some quality stuff there! I feel sad I will not be able to attend. :(

Is Uzumaki anime? I've read the manga, which is superb, but didn't realise there might be a screen adaptation.

Ok.  I don't think I agree that books are the same as films, but if you don't like either that's fair enough.

While I'm the wrong gender to attend, could I also suggest the following movies as ones I think you might appreciate:

Wild zero - Japanese zombie b-movie goodness
Cypher - Sci-fi goodness. One of my fave films of all time
Taxi (and Taxi 2) - the original french version, not the remake, eeww no, not the remake. Nice and silly.
Casshern - Beautifully made, complicated japanese film with robot army's, super human mutants, and of course a hero.

I can lend you these on dvd if required.
