I have watched 164/250 films since I started watching the IMDB top 250. I've gone from 1/4 done to 2/3 done. 100 films in just under two years, that's just over one a week! Considering I've watched the whole of Time Team, Mythbusters and a whole load of other stuff I think that I have spent too much time in front of a monitor.
I'm still running into the problem of people being offended that I've not seen a film they think I should have, maybe because the films that people want me to have seen just aren't that good, or at least aren't in the top 250.
The ones I have watched recently are:
Once Upon a Time in America - Long and boring
Unforgiven - Not bad for a western
Salaire de la peur, Le - AMAZING. I loved this film and was rooted through every part of it!
Ben-Hur - Long but ok. Shame about the religion in there
Yojimbo - Not as good as the other Kurosawa's.
Wo hu cang long [Hidden Tiger] - HATED this. Laughed most the way through and wish I'd never wasted the time.
The Killing - I enjoyed this much more than any other Kubrick.
The Deer Hunter - Great film, enjoyed it a lot and was quite mesmerised by the end.
Platoon - so traumatising!!
The Graduate - Didn't make much sense, lots of plot holes
It Happened One Night - Awesome and hillarious. That actress is really weirdly beautiful
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid - I couldn't stop laughing - I've never had this kind of humour before! Enjoyed it a lot
Notti di Cabiria, Le - LOVE LOVE LOVE that girl is STUNNING and the story was amazing.
Gandhi - Blah blah fucking blah.
Lost Boys 2 - TERRIBLE. The best lines ALL belonged to Edgar Frog.
[rec] - v. short and disappointing, the characters were all STUPID.
Death Race - So many explosions and deaths. Wish I'd seen it at the Cinema.
Final Destination 1, 2, 3 - The whole bar went quiet and just yelled every time someone died. Wicked stuff although 3 sucked, especially at the end.
Good Morning Vietnam - Not as great as I thought it would be.

Date: 2008-12-14 02:33 am (UTC)Death Race was SO worth it at the theater!!! Just go in with no hope and it was amazing. Cars were merely tapped and they would have a giant explosion!!!! awesome.
